Cuban Disaster Relief Donations Sought in the Wake of Hurricane Gustav

WASHINGTON, Sept. 5 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- U.S. citizens can donate money to provide urgent disaster relief to Cuban victims of Hurricane Gustav, which is the worst storm to hit the island in 50 years. (www.PanAmericanRelief.org)

"Donations will be used for basic supplies that Cubans desperately need after this natural disaster," says Marc Wachtenheim, Director of the Cuban Development Initiative at the Pan American Development Foundation (www.padf.org) in Washington, D.C.
As many as 90,000 homes were destroyed in the Cuban province of Pinar del Rio, while 20,000 homes were leveled in Isla Juventud.
"Your donation to www.PanAmericanRelief.org can make a difference for the Cuban survivors of Hurricane Gustav," says Wachtenheim. "We can obtain humanitarian supplies that will relieve their suffering."
PADF is able to receive donations and distribute the money to aid Cuban victims of the storm.
PADF, which is a non-governmental organization, has in-depth experience in natural disaster relief. The non-profit organization is currently involved in disaster relief in Haiti, where three back-to-back storms have resulted in more than 170 deaths and thousands of homeless in that Caribbean nation.
Donations made to www.PanAmericaRelief.org are deductible from U.S. taxes.
